Dr. Levi Kabagambe Bategeka serves as the Institute Secretary, Secretary to Council, and Accounting Officer of UNITE. He is responsible for institutional governance, legal and administrative affairs, corporate management, and financial accountability.
Dr. Bategeka is a highly experienced Procurement and Supply Chain Management professional with strong expertise in strategic leadership, governance, risk management, quality assurance, institutional development, and higher education administration.
He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Global Business Management) from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Science degree, and a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Makerere University. He has also undertaken specialized training in Institutional Management of Higher Education at Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands.
Prior to joining UNITE, Dr. Bategeka served in several senior leadership positions in higher education institutions both locally and internationally. These include Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs) at ABM University College in Botswana and Director of Quality Assurance at Makerere University Business School (MUBS). At MUBS, he also served as Associate Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research and Head of the Procurement and Supply Chain Management Department.
Dr. Bategeka has served on the Board of the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA) as a procurement specialist representing the Ministry of Finance. He has also contributed extensively to institutional reviews, programme accreditation, and quality audits for higher education institutions in Uganda.
He is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS-UK), a Certified Procurement Practitioner (CPP), and a member of the Uganda Institute of Corporate Governance.
His leadership experience and governance expertise continue to strengthen institutional systems and accountability at UNITE.
