Dr. Caroline Nakidde Kavuma

ACADEMIC REGISTRAR

Dr. Caroline Nakidde Kavuma serves as the Academic Registrar of UNITE and is responsible for academic administration, admissions, curriculum coordination, examinations management, institutional academic planning, and quality assurance.

She is a highly respected teacher educator, pedagogue, curriculum specialist, and educational leader with over 30 years of experience in teacher education, curriculum development, educational leadership, foundational learning, and competence-based programming.

Dr. Kavuma holds a PhD in Education, a Master’s Degree in Teacher Education and Transformative Curriculum, and a Bachelor of Education degree specialising in Curriculum and Early Childhood Education. She also possesses advanced training in Democratic Classrooms, Child Rights, and Results-Based Management.

Her professional journey spans service in primary schools, teacher training colleges, Kyambogo University, and Aga Khan University in Tanzania.

Dr. Kavuma has played a central role in educational transformation initiatives across Uganda, including literacy promotion Programmes, teacher professional development projects, quality assurance systems, and curriculum reforms. She also coordinated the Secretariat that successfully facilitated the establishment of UNITE.

She is widely recognized for her expertise in competence-based education, pedagogical leadership, curriculum innovation, teacher agency, digital learning integration, literacy and numeracy assessment, and community engagement.

Her work strongly advocates for inclusive, learner-centered, and transformative education systems that promote both academic excellence and social responsibility.

As an educational researcher and policy advocate, Dr. Kavuma continues to contribute to teacher education reforms, gender-responsive pedagogy, early childhood education, and foundational learning in Uganda.
