The Uganda National Institute for Teacher Education (UNITE) was created on 5th July 2024 by Statutory Instrument No. 53 of 2024, under the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act (UOTIA), Cap. 262, as an Other Degree Awarding Institution (ODAI).
UNITE is a multi-campus institution with campuses in Kabale, Kaliro, Mubende, Muni, and Unyama, and its headquarters located in Kira Municipality (former Shimoni Core PTC). The institute is fully accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
UNITE is mandated to:
Coordinate and deliver teacher education at all levels (from initial training to graduate studies),
Develop and conduct Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes.
Applications are now invited from suitable and eligible Ugandans to fill the following vacant positions at UNITE on permanent terms:
