Philosophy
Vocationalisation of teacher education: through focusing on hands-on experiences as basis of teaching and learning; deliberate knowledge application for livelihood, leadership and decision-making and social services to the immediate community.
UNITE Teachers are to model to learners that knowledge is for life and learners will not have to wait until after graduation to apply the acquired knowledge, skills and values.

Objectives
The objectives of establishing UNITE is to:
- Provide quality teacher education, training and professional development through competency-based programmes
- Promote transformative education through the vocationalisation of teaching and learning at all levels
- Coordinate and implement Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programmes for teacher professional development
- Enhance life-long learning through providing career paths progression opportunities in education
- Promote research, innovation and community engagement in educational practice
- Train and develop teachers who are cognizant of ethical values, in and outside UNITE campuses
